Where do I begin?
What a special day.
I’ve been watching Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, aka “ICAG”, on TV for over a decade. Growing up in Philly, I always had a soft spot for the way she spoke, her no BS approach to cooking. It felt like I was watching one of my friend's Italian mothers prepare dinner for her family.
Never in a million years did I think I would have the honor of sharing a kitchen with Alex. As many of you know, she was the judge on 100 Cooks, the Food Network show I was on. But a lot of you may not have known that she also follows my Substack.
We decided we would meet halfway in NYC (shoutout to the Institute of Culinary Education for supplying the kitchen) and throw down some affordable, delicious meals for you lovely animals.
Here is our first collab. A shepherd's pie. Stick to your ribs comfort with so much flavor at a reasonable cost.
Enjoy.
